This Weekend Will Be Fun!

The 4th full weekend of June is here!  For those who are into Ham Radio, this means it's time for "Field Day".  

Field Day is an annual amateur radio exercise encouraging emergency communications preparedness among amateur radio operators. In the United States, it is typically the largest single emergency preparedness exercise in the country, with over 30,000 operators participating each year.

I will be out setting up antennas Saturday morning with some friends and then contacting other stations around America from the afternoon to Sunday morning. I've been doing this almost every summer for about 35 years now.  It should be a lot of fun.

While I'm having fun at Field Day, Holly will be getting together with some of the gals from the Northern Illini UnRavelers group.  They'll be bringing sewing machines and unfinished projects to a meeting room in the Elk Grove Village library on Saturday morning and having fun together while finishing their projects.  That should be a fun day for all of them too.

Yes I have to make another one, but, I now know what not to do! lol lol Wanda, I wanted to do that to the slip, but they don't know the date of the christening yet. So, plain slip they get. Maybe the next one.

Photo by "Marsha In WA".  Look at the super cool assortment of fabrics! JoAnne (Mylove) donated these fabrics for quilts! Some fabrics are Patriotic, so those will go to SewFest in KC,KS with me. The others will be used in quilts for various charities! I can't wait!! Thank you again, JoAnne!
